Today is our last day in Seville and as a reward (bribe) for good behavior and a return to home schooling during our stay, we are taking the boys to an amusement park. It is called Isla Magica (non water park) & Agua Magica (water park). Before the boys got to enjoy the fun they had one more morning of home school.
Ollie wrote a letter to his friend Bradley telling him how excited he is that we are going to be meeting up with them in Croatia. Lenny continued to learn his expanding list of “Lenny Words” and we were off to get a taxi to the park. It was only a short ride from the city center, about 15 minutes.
Once inside the park we decided to try and explore the non water park section first before it got too hot. Upon entering we encountered a piece of the Berlin Wall which was cool but seemed out of place. We passed on the tethered balloon ride and ended up on a wild river ride that you stayed mostly dry on. That was followed up one of those large spinning swing rides, after which I needed a ride break.
We headed to the kid rides area to get a snack and let the kids do solo rides. Kayleen and I commented that Ollie would likely soon decide to not go on these but he was a good brother to Lenny today.
It was heating up so we started to migrate to the water park. On the way we saw a boat ride with cannons that Lenny and I went on. Kayleen and Ollie stayed on a bridge we passed next to. They had cannons that shot water for 1 Euro each via an automatic pump. Lenny and I had cannons but they shot water only as you manually cranked a wheel. Kayleen and Ollie easily reached us as we passed by but no matter how hard we cranked they stayed dry.

Once we reached the water park we found two chairs near the wave pool and the boys were excited to run in. The waves went off every hour, on the half an hour, so we all got in for that. It was pretty intense, even Ollie needed us there to venture into the deep end during a wave session. They had fun bobbing over the waves and attempting to fight them in the shallow end.
We explored the water slide area and Lenny was too short for a lot of the big slides but they had a nice play area for him. Ollie and I went on a double tube ride twice before meeting up with them again for ice cream. Ollie wasn’t heavy enough for a lot of the single tube rides so we headed back for another session in the wave pool before making our exit.
Aside from our family there was a lot of skin showing at the water park. We all had swim shirts on the whole time and covered any exposed skin in sun screen. I wonder if the locals thought we looked ridiculous? I’m sure they would have if the boys were in there swim pants!
As we made our way to the exit the boys were trying to get one more ride in but they were both too short for the one we passed. Somehow they both accepted this, there was no one more ride, but they left without any screaming or fighting.
At home Kayleen used what was left in the fridge for dinner as we packed and let the boys watch a movie. The washer-dryer combo unit left some drying to be desired so we had some damp clothes on the balcony overnight. Hoping for the best as we have an early morning trek to the airport tomorrow.
Seville is a really cool city that you could spend days walking around and stopping at new shops and restaurants all over the city. The heat with the kids made it tough but we still had a great time and where happy to be in a walk-able city for a week.
