Another travel day is upon us, the first of back to back ones. We had breakfast at the hotel restaurant and then headed back to the room to pack and do a home school session. Ollie was able to make an incredible mess out of eating one piece of bread at breakfast. By the end of this trip I wonder if they will eat at a restaurant like a normal person, I doubt it.

Our flight was not until the afternoon so we had no need to rush. All our newly acquired souvenirs were methodically crammed into our suitcases with the plan to try and ship a box home in London. Then we did snacks and home school before heading to the airport. Kayleen had gotten some Korn Kurls at the grocery store and both kids loved them. Her friend that grew up in Zim said they were her lifetime favorite snack when she noticed them on the daily Instagram story.

The security and customs line at the Victory Falls airport was long and the boys were badly behaved. There was a statue of a rhino that briefly held their interest, Ollie tried to stick his finger in its butthole. Then they debated if it was a male or female rhino, it was a male.

They were both reprimanded multiple times as we tried to make our way to the gate, Lenny deserved it much more then Ollie on this day. We eventually made it to the gate and bought what limited snacks were available. We made the boys sit at the gate and do nothing, no iPads, as punishment for being so badly behaved in the security line.

I was glad to be moving on from Zimbabwe. Victoria Falls was much more impressive then anything I imagined but we didn’t need to be there for 3 full days. There wasn’t much to do once you hit the tourist sites, and those could easily be fit into two full days, maybe even one. Our hotel was nice but not where we should have been. It was a quite relaxing place which doesn’t suit the vibe the boys bring with them. It was also buggy since the grounds were left in their nature state. Just plants trimmed back from the paths to walk around the small property. All that with the crazy cost of things compared to South Africa on top of it.

We made it back to the same airport hotel we stayed at in Joburg before going on safari. Dropped our things in the room (same one as last time) and quickly headed for early dinner at the hotel restaurant, Quills. We played some Uno and the boys both got sliders, “Crabby Patties”, though out of four sliders only one was eaten by Ollie. Lenny also ordered a tomato soup for himself which he tried to not eat but he was forced to at least try it. Once he tried it he devoured the whole bowl. Both boys went without desert for their poor behavior throughout the day.

After dinner I got the boys ready for bed while Kayleen worked out the days frustrations in the hotel gym, which was quite nice. We then traded and she put them to bed while I went up to the gym. Then off to bed so we could get moving early for our morning flight to Mauritius.
