We moved a little slow this morning and when we all ventured out we decided to split up for our morning walk. Ollie went with me and Lenny with Kayleen. Ollie and I had to dump some trash and eventually make it to the market to get a few groceries. Lenny and Kayleen where making their way to Zara to look for some fresh socks for the boys. Their current supply is getting too small and gross. Still some Sahara desert sand embedded in a few of them…

Ollie and I stopped at a small coffee shop before unloading our trash. They had a cappuccino with orange blossom I wanted to try. The streets are lines with orange trees here, but sadly the flower is not in season. Ollie got a pastry and I had a small omelette that came on a roll. He loves to talk, always asking “what should we talk about next” once he views the current topic as complete. His topics today ranged from his classmates at school, to details about the characters in Batman, and random video game questions.

Lenny and Kayleen stopped to get a smoothie snack on their Zara adventure. Somehow Zara had no socks that would fit the boys so we will need to try again in France. They did find a Flying Tiger Copenhagen store, all of which closed in the US, and were able to snag a few fun items like a country based memory game & a paper airplane launcher.

Ollie and I were back first so we started home school and Lenny was keen to play the new memory game with Kayleen when they arrived home. I believe there are 33 different matches so really testing Lenny’s attention span.

Everyone eventually got to home school with some mild distraction occurring throughout. Lenny is always looking out for me when I try to snap a picture of him doing school. Ollie eventually gets through his letters but needs a lot of reminders to focus. To get out of the heat this afternoon we planned to go to a movie which we tried to use as reward to keep his focus. He did get it done and wrote a nice letter to his friend at home, Harper.

Kayleen found a showing of the new Lilo & Stitch that was in English. We headed across town in a cab and luckily we were early as the driver let us out about half a mile from the theater. We will chalk it up to the language barrier…

We made it in time to get snacks and settled for the previews. The movie kept the kids entertained and had a few laughs for us. The mall and theater were new and built around the stadium for the Sevilla FC, which plays in La Liga. It seemed like a pretty fun place to watch a match.

After the movie we headed back on the tram for a change of pace. The boys liked it, except for the short walk back to our place as it’s still around 100 degrees at 7PM.

We were all full from movie snacks, especially Lenny since he ate nearly a whole bucket of popcorn and his bag of candy. We had a few snacks at home instead of a normal dinner while we played games. I played the new memory game with the boys but Ollie kept getting mad that I would give Lenny hints. I tried to explain to him without a few hints Lenny loses interest and won’t keep playing. Though that did not matter when Lenny won and broke into his celebratory “booty shake” dance, Ollie lost it.

We moved onto Uno and Kayleen joined, first as Lenny’s teammate then on her own. I won the first game and in an effort to get Ollie worked up I jumped up and did Lenny’s “booty shake” dance. Ollie did not care one bit but Lenny lost it. In a fit of rage he got up, screaming with tears, and ran to attack me. He never said if it was because he lost or because I stole his patented dance, he has been doing the dance for weeks.

Eventually he calmed down and we had a few more rounds of Uno before it was off to bed for all.
