Today is our last full day in Malaysia. The weather turned out to be OK for most of our time here and the kids enjoyed all the activities from the random kid’s club things and the inflatable slide into the pool. It did reinforced to Kayleen and I that we are not resort people that like to stay in one compound for nearly a week. This was the same way we felt about Mauritius all those months ago, we need some independence to explore by foot or bike.

We did our normal routine of gym time, breakfast, and home school. The boys used one of their breaks during home school to create another pillow sandwich they were very proud of.

Some more chicken satay was on the docket for lunch but Kayleen remembered to take a picture so we finally have one to post after talking about it so much. There have been lots of small lizards during our time here but Kayleen got to see a big iguana on her walk to the gym today.

We planned to head back to the mall that Kayleen had done my birthday shopping excursion at with the boys. Two of the pools at the resort have been out of commission for a few days due to a water issue from all the flooding. I needed a break from the inflatable slide watching and we needed to return a few things at the mall.

The plan was to do the returns and let the boys have some time at an arcade. Every store we stopped at was torture to the boys but they behaved as well as can be expected. We caught a Pokémon called Dondozo which gave us something to make endless rhymes with and keep them distracted. Don’t be a bozo, power up your Dondozo…

After a few unexpected sock and underwear replacement purchases we finally made it to the arcade. The boys each got 25 USD loaded on their cards to play with. That might get you 30 minutes at a Dave and Busters but here it might as well be an unlimited play. The games were a wide variety from a new Pokémon and Wicked Tuna game to old claw machines. Watching Lenny flail around in a machine where he was meant to catch the balls falling from the ceiling and put them in a hole was painful. Eventually the kids settled in to finish the funds on their cards playing an animal vs animal game that gave them character cards as they played. When that couldn’t consume the rest of their funds they got some candy and tickets to exchange for the smallest prize behind the counter. I have already forgotten exactly what it was…

Kayleen had gone to look for some food and returned near the end of our time at the arcade. Ollie exclaimed to her, “We played Amazon Prime at the arcade!! Probably my favorite game”. He was talking about transformers and meaning Optimus Prime.

Once back at the hotel we ordered room service and did a bit of organizing for an airplane packing tomorrow morning. The boys can’t be trusted near the bed with food of any kind so agreed to enjoy their pizza on the floor instead of sitting at the desk in their room. Once sufficiently full they got to enjoy a show before heading to bed. Kayleen and I continued watching The Pitt once the boys were asleep.
